NTI alumni in Janjgir Champa District in the state of Chattisgarh, are working together with the Gram Panchayat, the local government, to procure and distribute food materials to the villagers in their area.
Their first step they took was to create awareness about the virus, its impact, and to urge the Gram Panchayat to take this lockdown seriously.
The alumni reached out to their friends and family members, who donated amounts of 50 to 500 Rupees each.
This money has been able to provide basic provisions for 37 families. Our alumni distributed food grains to the families, including staples of rice, pulse, salt, sugar, tea powder, potato and vegetables, and chilli powder. Along with food provisions, they also distributed masks and sanitisers in their district.
