State: Rajasthan
Team Members involved: Raghuraj, Jaikishan, Abhishek, Amit, Bawal, Rishabh, Sachin
Work details: As we have surveyed, we found out many different communities are badly affected by the lockdown as imposed. After identification, we proposed Nagaloka to help us. The support fund only covered the food ingredients. Our team worked voluntarily.
We have been doing this langer since mid of April. We have been doing this in a very unorganised way. The weather has also been troubling us a lot. We donot have any such good place for cooking. We tried under a temporary tent. When the rain comes, we have to shift to other place and continue.
For distribution, we carry on any vehicle we get, either it is friends or any helpers.
We are very thankful to Nagaloka and the donors who have been continously supporting us and keep this help carry on.
Beneficiaries Quantity: 400
Beneficiaries Details: Banjara nomads, Ragpickers, daily labours,Scheduled Caste communities and Minorities
Remarks:
Many families were very happy with our initiative. They bless us a lot. They say that if we were not provide any food to them, they would have starved for many days. They abuse the systems and pray if we could hold the positions that we could have given great outputs.
We also feel happy that we could outreach so many people and help them. This support helped us continue the langer for more 10 days. As we were almost empty handed.
Thank you Nagaloka and the donors for helping.
We feel very helpless when some families meet in the way asking food. We only can give them assurance that we will help them. We use to note their details and ask them to meet the next day.
